There are so many marketing and communications agencies out there, and I remember exactly what it felt like to be a young entrepreneur trying to figure out how on earth to promote my own bakery business—with almost no budget for paid ads, promotions, or even a simple banner for stalls and shows. Social media was the obvious answer (thank goodness it was free!), and I dived right in.
Along the way, I learned the tips and tricks the hard way and quickly discovered that creating a solid strategy, combined with a creative approach, was where I truly felt at home. From that point on, I was hooked and determined to make marketing my full-time career. I went on to gain hands-on experience through various marketing and communications roles, formal qualifications in SEO, Google Analytics, and marketing analytics, along with a professional marketing qualification from The Chartered Institute of Marketing. With each role, I intentionally moved across different sectors—charities, governing bodies, retail, and agency roles—to broaden my knowledge and tackle new challenges head-on.
Fast forward a decade, and here I am! Driven by a passion for helping others grow their businesses, I’ve gone freelance and would love the chance to work with you.
After years of experience across different industries, I’ve encountered and overcome a wide range of marketing challenges. I couldn’t agree more with this line from David Epstein’s book Range:
“The challenge we all face is how to maintain the benefit of breadth, diverse experience, interdisciplinary thinking, and delayed concentration in a world that increasingly incentivizes, even demands, hyperspecialization.”
I take pride in my broad knowledge across marketing and communications. Leading a team of specialists in digital marketing, media, social platforms, press, internal communications, and brand campaigns has been a highlight of my career—a result of my decision not to specialise. This broad experience has allowed me to adapt to each unique brand I’ve worked with, bringing a blend of expertise and creativity to deliver meaningful results.
While numbers and KPIs are key (who doesn’t love a measurable goal?), I believe how people feel about your organisation is just as important. Marketing, after all, is a long game—a journey that builds connection over time.
More than anything, I’m here because I want to help. I love the thrill of diving into new organisations, understanding their potential, and crafting marketing solutions that fuel growth. This desire to make a positive impact drove me to go freelance, so I could support more organisations like yours.
